These unique and very special recycling units are simply beautiful in any environment, whether in your designer kitchen or in an office. Being a timber product in a natural finish they blend perfectly with any natural looking materials, whether your floor or furniture.

Hippopods are designed to fit elegantly into your home. Recycling tubs and bins are nearly always bold coloured plastic: only good for outside, certainly NOT a piece of furniture to complement your room. If you don't have a garden or garage for your recycling then you should definitely have a Hippopod.

These First Edition Hippopods are individually numbered and made in Oak and Birch. No more Hippopods will be made in these materials. You are buying something very special not just for your home but for you. If your friends talk recycling then they will definitely find your Hippopod so, so cool!

You may choose from two finishes:
- Satin Varnish (as per our first 3 images showing a contemporary, natural look) or...
- Danish Oil (as per the bottom 3 images showing a glossy, antique look, the more eco friendly of the two).

Using a Hippopod could not be easier. The pockets are always gaping open, so you can drop items straight in - there are no lids or doors requiring extra hands! Hippopods use standard supermarket carrier bags. We will soon launch our own HippoPockets: washable, cotton bags as an alternative.

When we sold Sprout Design's Binvention (www.sproutdesign.co.uk) we found customers in the city wanted them delivered to work, but they were way too bulky to take home on public transport. To solve this Hippopods are flat packed, less than 4.5Kg and with a carry handle - so very easy to take home.
